THE ENTITY :: The Story So Far, The Coming of Blu After-Glow

‘The Colonel’ and Tracy (‘Miss Taelan’) have been operating BluAfterGlow since 1999. They have a joint experience of some 41 years working, playing and living within the body modification, fetish, clubbing and event production industries Australia wide.

BluAfterGlow is primarily an event production/facilitation team, producing its own events and facilitating to other major companies in Australia, working within the alternative life-styles industry in so many forms and within the scope of their motto – ‘All Things Unique’. From performance art to event production, workshops to advising on film and TV, always with the industries best interests in mind. In addition to performing as individuals for many years, together they have defined there own style of performance evolving different styles of restraint, sensory domination and BDsM play into theatrical performance art with the use of equipment such as a violet wand, and sometimes working with their python, ‘Tana’. BluAfterGlow can facilitate performances for intimate private affairs for a handful of friends, corporate end of year celebrations for a few hundred or to crowds of 3000+ at dance parties.

From 1999 – 2004 The Colonel travelled the country with Sexpo, the biggest expo in Australia, engaging in floor performances and demonstrations in light BDsM play (sensory Domination), organising external functions, including the very successful Sexpo After-Parties and providing information and advice on alternative life-styles to those Sexpo patrons who chose to seek him out.

Since 2001 Primal People has managed an ever-growing number of unique performance artists, working them into events produced by BluAfterGlow or by other companies. In addition to this, Primal People sources alternate, unique individuals to fill different film and TV roles, source equipment to fill a scene and provide advice to directors and scriptwriters to ensure that correct terminology and practice is used when producing an alternative scene. Film and TV projects that The Colonel and Miss T have worked on include 'The Extra', 'Strange Bedfellows', 'Secret Life Of Us', 'Trojan Warrior', 'Matrix 2 & 3', 'Marshal Law', Fox8’s ‘Are You Good In Bed’, Austereo TV’s ‘The Chat Room’, 'Nightmares & Dreamscapes', ‘Where The Wild Things Are’, 'Ghost Rider’, U2 music video and the soon to be released ‘Satisfaction’. 'Are You Good In Bed' and 'The Chat Room' saw them both sitting on the panel with popular media identities answering questions and providing an insight into the fetish and alternative lifestyles. They have been interviewed by all mainstream media in Australia as well as being interviewed and featured in documentaries produced by Arena TV, Channel 31, Playboy TV, Crank TV and the United States 'Not Recommended Behaviour'.

Primal Ware is their range of all Australian made unique lifestyle products. This incorporates leather restraints, accessories and fashion, hand made three dimensional latex accessories, custom made steel, glass and timber ware and an ever growing number of unique pieces. An on-line catalogue (coming shortly) will enable retailers to purchase a standard product range as well as giving individuals the resource to have that special piece custom made. It was The Colonel and Miss T’s passion and interest in erotic, sensual fetishism, which saw the development of ‘Inner Sanctum’. Between November 2000 and September 2003, Inner Sanctum operated as Melbourne’s most private and exclusive club within a club. A nomadic event that took place on an occasional basis, when the time was right and when a suitable event was taking place within which to house it. Inner Sanctum was an intimate invitation only Fetish party, which provided a safe, non-judgemental environment for like-minded and hearted individuals. The invited membership of Inner Sanctum brought together people from each corner of the fetish scene. From wearers of leather, latex and PVC to cross dressers, Dominants with their submissives, and those that simply enjoy the opportunity to dress in an erotic manner, flirt and play. Emphasis was always placed on the sensual power not the sexual power.
November 2001 saw Melbourne experience the first Primal event. This was an industry event, conceptualised and produced by BluAfterGlow and promoted nationally only to those within the alternative scene that attracted a little over 600 guests. For the first time ever in the one environment Melbourne experienced a multi-unification of the deepest, most unique indulgences that only the few experience. Primal brought together the cream of Australia’s deepest underbelly in Eroticism, BDsM, Gothicism, Sensuality and all that is Fetish into the one space at the one time. The overwhelming success of Primal Melbourne 2001 saw it produced again in 2002, 2003 and 2004.

2002 saw the first Erogenous Zone’, an alternative event produced in a warehouse environment. In addition to the sound and space that guests have come to expect from a BluAfterGlow party, Erogenous Zone’s greater emphasis was on Alternative Visual Arts and Performances that was both rehearsed and spontaneous.

The success and growth of these BluAfterGlow events caused The Colonel and Miss T to consider the idea of a venue dedicated to entertaining Melbourne’s and Australia’s alternative life-stylers. As the demand for more regular BluAfterGlow events grew a dedicated venue presented as a good option to producing so many events in other peoples clubs. And so the search was on to find an apropriate venue to house the concept. After a 13-month search, in September 2003 the perfect space was located and by December 2003 the deal was done. 11 weeks of building and refurbishing later, on 12 March 2004 ABODE opened its doors to become Australia’s first (and only) fixed location, permanent Alternative/Fetish club, a space to house all their ideas and their ethos and a natural extension to BluAfterGlow ‘All Things Unique’, ABODE ‘The Home of All Things Wicked’.
